What is a Florida Certified Master Builder?
Florida Certified Master Builders (FCMB) are elite home builders, remodelers and commercial contractors who are dedicated to excellence in building and client satisfaction. The builders who seek this certification hold themselves to a higher standard than required by the State of Florida for licensure.
Michael Bourré, president of Bourré Construction Group in Fleming Island, is a Florida Certified Master Builder.
“Florida Certified Master Builders must meet strict requirements and demonstrate a proven track record of building expertise, business stability, integrity and exceptional customer service,” said Michael. “Their education, design and product research requirements keep them in tune with the latest building practices and design trends.”
Obtaining a contractor’s license in the State of Florida is difficult. Once received, builders and remodelers must adhere to the stringent Florida Building Code and receive 14 hours of continuing education every two years in order to maintain their license. FCMB recognizes Florida’s rigorous standard for all contractors, but knows it is not enough to stand out amongst the crowd. Florida Certified Master Builders take their training, knowledge and skills to the next level to ultimately stand out as elite builders.
Michael Bourré has been in the construction business for two decades and is a prime example of an elite builder who has earned his way to becoming a Florida Certified Master Builder. He is a graduate of the prestigious Rinker School of Building Construction at the University of Florida and a Marine Corps veteran. He also is a member of the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) and National Association of Home Builders. Most recently, he served as the 2019 -2020 President of the Florida Home Builders Association. Within his community, Michael has worked with HabiJax, helping to provide affordable homes to those less fortunate.
