Michael Bourré Reappointed to the Florida Building Commission

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Michael Bourré, founder and president of Bourré Construction Group in Fleming Island, Fla., has been reappointed for a second year to the Florida Building Commission by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He is one of three members of the commission to be reappointed by the Governor.

Bourré will continue his work as vice chair of the Florida Building Commission, as well as chairman of the commission’s Education Program Oversight Committee.

Founded in the Jacksonville area in 2005, Bourré Construction Group specializes in high-end residential and commercial construction projects in the state of Florida. Bourré is a past president of the Florida Home Builders Association and has been an executive board member since 2011. He has also served on the Clay County Planning Commission since 2013. Bourré served in the United States Marine Corps and earned an honorable discharge, graduating from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a degree in Construction Management.

After obtaining a contractor’s license from the state of Florida and adhering to the stringent requirements to maintain it, Bourré became a Florida Certified Master Builder (FCMB). FCMBs are elite home builders, commercial contractors and remodelers who are dedicated to excellence in building and client satisfaction. Builders who have this certification are held to a higher standard than required by the state of Florida for licensure. Bourré is one such elite builder, using his twenty years of experience to stand out amongst the crowd.

“I consider it an honor to be reappointed by our Governor to the Florida Building Commission,” Bourré said. “I look forward to continuing to serve our great state and working with my fellow commissioners to support high standard building practices statewide.”

The Florida Building Commission is a state government agency responsible for developing and updating the Florida Building Code to ensure safe, consistent building practices in the state of Florida.
