Michael Bourré Appointed to the Florida Building Commission

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Michael Bourré, founder and president of Bourré Construction Group in Fleming Island, Fla., has been appointed to the Florida Building Commission by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He is one of six new members of the commission recently appointed by the Governor.

Bourré will serve as vice chair of the Florida Building Commission. He also will serve as chairman of the Florida Building Commission’s Education Program Oversight Committee beginning in April 2021.

Founded in the Jacksonville area in 2005, Bourré’s company specializes in both high-end residential and commercial construction projects throughout the State of Florida. He is the immediate past president of the Florida Home Builders Association and has served as an executive board member since 2011. Bourré has also served on the Clay County Planning Commission since 2013. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he earned a degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida in Gainesville.

The Florida Building Commission is a state government agency responsible for developing and updating the Florida Building Code to ensure safe and consistent building practices throughout the State of Florida.
